Rooney returns home: Everton has the quality to fight for trophies

Wayne Rooney and officially signed today a two-year contract with his former club, Everton. Rooney returns to the ranks of “Caramel” after 13 years.

“I feel wonderful. I am happy to return to my club from childhood. I’m looking forward to getting to know my teammates, to start training, and to compete. I’m glad to see that the club has gone a long way after all these years. I did not come back here just because I support the club, Everton has the strength to win trophies and I’m glad that I will be part of this project. I will do my best to please the fans of this club, “said Rooney on Everton’s official website.

The best scorer in England’s history for Everton’s first team debuted at 16. He played 77 contests for “Caramel”, scored 17 goals in the period from 2002 to 2004. He then made his transfer to United for 37m euros, and deservedly got the status of a legend at the club. Rooney won everything he could have won with the Devils, and left “Old Trafford” as the best goalkeeper in the history of England’s most talented club.
