Marco Melandri won his first victory in 2014 after managing to celebrate the second race at Misano. This was for him the first triumph with the team of Aruba.it Racing Ducati. Italian driver managed to fix once fell on the last lap of the race number one. Excellent start for the second race and soon found behind Xavi Fores and Jordi Torres. Once Fores had to leave the race due to a mechanical problem with the engine, engage Melandri in the chase for Torres and already in the twelfth round managed to overtake. After that, he just increased the advantage.
Three laps from the end and Torres had to leave the race because of problems with the bike, which allow Melandri even greater advantage over Kawasaki drivers who were behind him.

Jonathan Rea finished second and further increase the advantage over his team-mate He Sykes who was third. Michael van der Mark, who plays for Pata Yamaha, finished fourth and Eugene Lavera from Milwaukee Aprilia, scored his best result this season after eventually found the fifth. Right behind him were his team-mate Lorenzo Savadori and Raffaele De Rosa.
