Catalan giant Barcelona failed to bring Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool this summer, and the reason for this is the enormous damages demanded by the English Premier League.
The negotiations between the two clubs lasted for a long time, but they did not finish successfully for Barca.
Sporting director of the Catalan club, Albert Soller, told a press conference today that Liverpool has asked for 200m euros to sell the Brazilian.
“Liverpool wanted 200m euros, and we normally did not accept that. Barcelona always trades within the club plans, ” said Soller
Coutinho signed a revised five-year deal with Liverpool in January, with no clear-cut clause, so Liverpool can determine how much money will be required for the sale of the Brazilian international. Barca still decided not to pay 200m euros, although he previously sold Neymar for a record 222m euros in Paris Saint Germain.
